La Sagrada Família is a standout amongst Gaudí’s most renowned works in Barcelona. It’s a big Basilica that has been under development since 1882 and is still unfinished. Today new development materials are being utilized which Gaudí himself would not have utilized. This amazing basilica is referred to in Spanish as “el Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia”, which truly means the “Expiatory Temple of the Sacred Family”. Gaudí considered it to be as a portrayal of nativity, an image of life and creation. That is the reason he presented its rich ornamentation, including creatures and apparatuses blended with images, for example, the Tree of Life.
