Fundacion_Joan_Miró

The Fundació Joan Miró was constructed by Miró himself, at first mainly with works from his very own private gathering, with an objective to set up a universally perceived space in Barcelona for Miró grant and contemporary art, and to spread the collection. The museum opened to public in 1975 and has since turned into a dynamic space in which Miró’s work coincides with modern contemporary art. Through its presentation and instructive projects, the museum investigates lines of research connected to crafts by Miró and to contemporary art.
