Located in Palau Nacional of Montjuïc, the Museu Nacional D´Art Catalunya opened its doors for people in 1934. The Museu Nacional takes guests on a continuous adventure through a thousand years of Catalan art, from the tenth to the twentieth centuries, through its four lasting collections: Gothic art and Romanesque; Baroque art and Renaissance; Modern art, prints, photography, illustrations, and posters and the Catalan Numismatic Department. The collections are all the artistic classes, including the Catalan Modernist style (Art Nouveau) developments of modernisme and Noucentisme and the cutting edge. The social supply of the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya is finished with a rich schedule of transitory shows.
